The Panhellenic Podcast is a space created to give an authentic, inside look at what it truly means to be part of the Panhellenic community. Through conversations with members across chapters, campus leaders, and special guests, the podcast highlights sisterhood, leadership, philanthropy, and the real experiences behind sorority life. Whether you’re considering going Greek or already involved, this podcast is designed to inform, connect, and showcase the values that go beyond the letters!

GLIMPSE INTO PHA!

Welcome to a glimpse of Charlotte Panhellenic! Our vibrant community includes 7 chapters where over 700 women call home. We are the largest Womens-only organization on campus. Charlotte Panhellenic is filled with student leaders committed to bettering not only our greek community, but also our university and the city of Charlotte. Our chapters unite diverse backgrounds through sisterhood, community service, and leadership. Each individual brings their own speciality, embodying the core values of our Panhellenic community.

The Charlotte Panhellenic Association (PHA) is the governing body of the sororities on campus. As such, it establishes guidelines, facilitates recruitment, and fosters the growth and development of the sorority community. The purpose of our Executive Board is to support sorority processes to further outstanding accomplishment. PHA also compiles rules governing recruitment, new member periods, and initiation. Its purpose is to create an environment where women can become better women. Within Panhellenic, women are provided with opportunities for campus involvement, leadership and professional development, community service, academic support, and bonds found within sisterhood. The Panhellenic experience will provide you with friendships and memories that truly last a lifetime!

Meet Ava Jessup!

Charlotte Panhellenic President

Hi! My name is Ava Jessup, and I have the honor of serving as the President of UNC Charlotte’s National Panhellenic Conference, or as we like to call it, PHA. Our community is dedicated to helping each of you find your forever home here at Charlotte. Panhellenic at Charlotte is made up of over 700 women across 7 unique chapters, each offering something special while contributing to one united community.

When I first came to college, I never would have thought I would join a sorority. I didn’t think I fit the “sorority type” and I fell into every stereotype, leading me to avoid them at all costs. Looking back now, I can confidently say that joining Panhellenic completely changed my college experience for the better. Like many freshmen, I came to Charlotte feeling unsure of where I fit and what path I wanted to take. Panhellenic gave me a sense of purpose and direction, while opening doors to opportunities that have shaped me into the leader and person I am today.

Being part of Panhellenic is so much more than joining one organization—it’s becoming part of a larger community of women who are committed to growth, leadership, and supporting one another. Through this experience, I have met incredible women who have encouraged me to step into leadership roles, supported me through challenges, and pushed me to reach my academic and professional goals. Most importantly, they have made Charlotte truly feel like home.

If you already know that sorority life is for you and have signed up for recruitment, we are so excited to welcome you! And if you are unsure, I encourage you to take the leap. I was once in your shoes, and saying yes to Panhellenic was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

It is such a privilege to serve this community and give back to something that has given me so much. The Panhellenic community at Charlotte is made up of women from all different backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to leadership, scholarship, and sisterhood. Your time in college will go by faster than you expect—so take advantage of every opportunity, step outside of your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to say yes!

With Love,

Ava Jessup
