About us

Welcome to a glimpse of Charlotte Panhellenic! Our vibrant community includes 7 chapters where over 700 women call home. We are the largest Womens-only organization on campus. Charlotte Panhellenic is filled with student leaders committed to bettering not only our greek community, but also our university and the city of Charlotte. Our chapters unite diverse backgrounds through sisterhood, community service, and leadership. Each individual brings their own speciality, embodying the core values of our Panhellenic community.

The Charlotte Panhellenic Association (PHA) is the governing body of the sororities on campus. As such, it establishes guidelines, facilitates recruitment, and fosters the growth and development of the sorority community. The purpose of our Executive Board is to support sorority processes to further outstanding accomplishment. PHA also compiles rules governing recruitment, new member periods, and initiation. Its purpose is to create an environment where women can become better women. Within Panhellenic, women are provided with opportunities for campus involvement, leadership and professional development, community service, academic support, and bonds found within sisterhood. The Panhellenic experience will provide you with friendships and memories that truly last a lifetime!

Letter from the President

Hello Potential New Members!

My name is Arden, and I currently serve as the President for Charlotte’s National Panhellenic Conference. As Panhellenic, we are here to help you throughout the process as you embark on a life changing journey finding friendships that will remain with you long after graduation from UNC Charlotte. You now have the opportunity to be a part of one of the oldest traditions in the country, Greek life! UNC Charlotte currently hosts 7 women’s Greek organizations housed under the Panhellenic Association, also known as PHA for short! Our 7 organizations are home to over 700 women on UNC Charlotte’s campus.

I know Sorority Recruitment can sound intimidating, but it is our goal to help you find a place where you belong, we call it your HOME! Whether you are already signed up for formal recruitment, or just considering the process, I encourage you to do it! I ran home to my sorority in Fall of 2021, and never looked back. This community has helped me grow tremendously as a friend, sister, leader, student, and individual. The sisters of Charlotte Panhellenic have been some of the most inspiring and supportive women I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Throughout my time with Charlotte Panhellenic, I have met my best friends, held leadership positions that allow me to empower others, and found a passion for philanthropic and volunteer work. These same opportunities will be yours as a member of our amazing council.

The Panhellenic Association is the largest women’s only organization on campus. We foster a family environment through the strength and realness between friendships. It is up to you to select experiences that build confidence, strengthen social and leadership skills, offer academic support, encourage campus involvement, and prepare you for life after college. In addition, we want you to know that all 7 of our chapters are STRICTLY non-hazing organizations. Hazing is illegal and is absolutely not tolerated by any organization at UNC Charlotte.

We have women of all different backgrounds, faiths, and cultures who have found a home in one of our organizations. Going Greek opens doors to amazing experiences that cannot be found with any other organization. Your time here at UNC Charlotte will offer so many opportunities for growth, but none will be as treasured as the sisterhood you will experience in one of our organizations.

In this community, you will be inspired by so many strong and supportive women and I can’t wait for you to get to know our community on a deeper level during formal recruitment.

We wish you a successful fall semester and hope to see you during Formal Recruitment!

Love,

Arden Pegelow

Panhellenic President
